I was wrong. or: Why vim is better than emacs

Contrary to the subtitle of this blog (and much to my private chagrin), I'm occasionally dead wrong. Such is the case with an earlier post in which I vow to switch to emacs as my primary editor. At the time, I had been reading waay too much stevey and reddit articles on lisp. Thus inspired, I installed aquamacs on my macbook, and began slogging my way through the emacs tutorials, convinced that eventually I would "get it", and become an editing wunderkind. Try as I might though, emacs wasn't clicking for me. I constantly had to pause to look up some obscure editing key-fu that tied my fingers in knots, or worse yet, I'd get stuck editing a file remotely where emacs wasn't available.
